Responsabilidades:
Primary Function
The incumbent to this role is responsible for leading the South American Technical Service team to provide technical service support excellence to our customers, to feed the new product innovation pipeline with customer- and market-driven front end ideas, as well as to deliver profitable business growth through the effective allocation and management of talent and resources across all affiliates in South America.
Key Deliverables
Business

Manage regional portfolio of Technical Service projects to support regional business strategy
• Allocate available resources in line with segment, springboard and strategic priorities to deliver respective business plans
• Support project pipeline goals and technical plans
• Co-ordinate establishing best practice in project management for the tech service team and deliver robust solutions in response to customer’s needs, and maximize the function’s impact on business growth
• Identify key decision makers within customers’ technical organization and enable development/maintenance of effective working relationships
• Understand the future needs of the customer’s brands and link them with our marketing and R&D teams to initiate and deliver relevant innovation
Agility and Innovation
Delivering differentiated and value adding new product innovations and ingredient solutions to ensure growth in targeted market and application segments
• Keep up-to-date with key technologies and developments in the food industry to ensure the team is equipped with the best knowledge; and has access to relevant external expertise, technical institutes, and facilities
• Closely collaborate with marketing and innovation team to identify growth opportunities.
• Lead the team to deliver technical service support excellence in line with internal and customers’ expectations
• Identify new product development opportunities to meet market and customer demand for functional, innovative solutions
• Ability to address fast changing customer demands and consumer needs via delivery of innovative solutions with unique functional benefits
Relationships and People
Lead, coach, and guide South American Technical Service team to consistently deliver upon challenging technical and business goals
• Instill, promote, and live world class safety behavior
• Coordinate and coach the South America technical service team, including participation in goal setting, creation and execution of development plans, training, and delivery of objectives in collaboration with affiliate business teams and in line with overall business deliverables
• Develop and execute a technical service strategy, aiming to deliver best in class service excellence, personal development opportunities, and addressing business opportunities
• Exhibit good interpersonal and communication skills, effectively coordinating a team located in different countries
• Improve the technical service function and increase level of sophistication of service provided to customers
• Assess team’s functional and technical capabilities against internal benchmark, identify key performance gaps, and develop and execute improvement plans to address the development need
• Develop and maintain global internal networks to share best practice
Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:
• Degree in Food Science, engineering or other science related discipline and minimum of 10 years of experience in the food (ingredient) industry
• Experienced in managing people; capable of developing and translating strategy into clear objectives and deliverables
• Excellent understanding of food science, industrial food processes, and the interactions between different food
• Innovative thinker with ability to implement change through a team of people
• Comfortable at managing risk, complexity, diversity, and ambiguity
• Excellent people management and coaching skills
• Strong networking & influencing skills
• Business acumen and understanding of levers impacting bottom line results
• Full time position with regular travel across South America and occasionally to other parts of the world
• Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English (verbal & writing)
