Job description
Our Service team delivers remote support to worldwide customers for IBM Rational Developer for System z, which uses the industry standards to simplify the development of rich client interfaces, Web user interfaces, traditional terminal interfaces, and back-end business logic deployable to CICS, IMS, DB2, Batch, z/OS UNIX and Websphere transactional environments.
We have 1 position available for a an enthusiastic support engineer, who understands the IBM z/OS, to provide remote technical support. This role specializes in problem determination/problem source identification skills for IBM Rational tools, utilizing technical and negotiation skills in collaboration with other support operations/organizations to prioritize and diagnose problems to resolution. The responsibilities include the ability to communicate action plans to the customer or IBM representative as appropriate, recommend and implement new or improvements to existing technical support tools, procedures, and processes, and contribute to department attainment of organizational objectives and high customer satisfaction. The candidate must have strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability and desire to learn new technologies quickly.
